I'm Alex Reinhold, I was in the 170th from 1984-1985. I was with the company when we moved from San Francisco to Ft. Lewis. Today I work for Mr. Rooter plumbing and in my spare time I'm Deputy Mayor of the City of Battle Ground, Wa.
Alex:
Your name is a little familiar. Did you come to Ft. Lewis from the Presidio with Rob Pappaceno (he later drove for the Battalion Commanderor the PM)?
Rob and I were in E-12 at Ft. Mc. together. After OSUT, he went to the Presidio and I went to the 2nd ID in Korea.
I started in the 170th in SFC White's 3rd Platoon in May 1985. I ended up in 4th Platoon until my ETS.
Congrats on your elected position. You're still serving the public!

Did Pappaceno speak Russian? I think I remember him coming to Presidio.
Pappaceno did speak Russian. As I recall, he studied and played football at FLA State before going Active Duty.
I knew him when he came to 170th then. He was muscular as I recall. He was pretty hilarious too.I left for Korea not too long after he arrived so I didn't know him too well.
